What does audience location by country mean?

Audience location by country shows the estimated geographic distribution of the audience represented in a creator’s analysis. The percentages help you assess whether that audience is concentrated in markets relevant to your campaign.

This is an audience estimate. It does not identify the creator’s home country or verify the location of every follower.

How the audience-country estimate is produced

Audience-location estimates use public profile and interaction data available for analysis. On Instagram and TikTok, the estimate describes sampled follower accounts. On YouTube, it describes distinct accounts that commented on public videos during the previous 30 days; it does not describe all subscribers or viewers.

Each audience-location estimate is produced from a sample formed for that specific analysis. Its size and composition vary depending on the request, the creator account, and the topic being analyzed. The result should therefore be interpreted within the scope of that individual analysis, rather than as a metric calculated from a fixed or identical sample across reports. Location signals include location tags, the language and captions of recent posts, and text in profile descriptions.

Country percentages are calculated among sampled accounts for which a country could be estimated. Accounts with unknown locations are excluded from that denominator. We show a country breakdown only when at least 200 accounts have an estimated country and those accounts represent at least 50% of the sample. Otherwise, the result is shown as unavailable.

These samples can underrepresent private accounts, people with little public information, and people who rarely comment. An audience-country estimate should therefore be used as a screening signal rather than a verified count of everyone who follows or watches a creator.

How should you read a country percentage?

If a card shows United States — 40%, the estimate assigns that country a 40% share of the audience represented in the analysis.

The population and coverage of that analysis matter. The percentage should not automatically be treated as a verified share of all followers, all recent viewers, or the people who will see a future sponsored post.

Illustrative example: A creator has 100,000 followers and a 40% estimated US audience share. Multiplying the two produces 40,000, but that calculation does not establish 40,000 reachable US customers. It assumes the audience estimate applies to the full follower base and says nothing about future exposure or buying intent.

Why might the visible countries not add up to 100%?

A compact creator card shows a limited country breakdown. Other countries may account for the remaining share, and displayed percentages may be rounded.

Do not treat an omitted country as having a 0% audience share. Review the fuller breakdown when geographic coverage will affect your shortlist.

Equally, a displayed 100% estimate should not be interpreted as independent confirmation that every follower lives in one country. Sample coverage and estimation limits still apply.

How does this differ from country ranking?

IQFluence’s country-ranking methodology uses evidence connecting the creator with a country. Audience geography answers a separate question.

A creator based in Germany can have an international audience. A creator based elsewhere can have a substantial German audience. Decide which relationship matters to the brief: a local creator connection, audience exposure in the market, or both.

There is no universal country-share threshold for campaign suitability. The 60% rule in IQFluence’s methodology belongs to audience-demographic list qualification; it is not a general approval threshold for every country percentage.

How should you use this metric?

Compare the estimated country distribution with the markets your campaign can serve. Then check recent content and language: location alone does not establish language preference, product interest, or purchasing intent.

For a campaign where geographic reach is decisive, ask shortlisted creators for recent, relevant first-party audience or content insights and compare their scope and dates with the estimate. Differences can reflect different audience populations or measurement periods and deserve a closer look.
