What does the engagement rate benchmark mean?

The engagement benchmark visual shows how the pieces of content represented in a creator analysis performed relative to one another. Each bar corresponds to a piece of content in the analyzed set.

A single tall bar usually marks a piece that significantly outperformed the rest. It is a signal to inspect that post or video before treating the creator’s engagement pattern as consistent.

How should you read the bars?

Compare bar heights within the same chart. Bars of similar height suggest that the analyzed pieces produced more even results, while one clear spike indicates that performance was concentrated in a standout piece.

The chart does not, by itself, explain why a piece performed differently. Topic, format, timing, or other circumstances may matter, so open the corresponding content before drawing a conclusion.

What does the benchmark not represent?

The bars should not be described as a peer-group median, percentile, industry average, or minimum requirement for inclusion unless IQFluence explicitly provides such a comparison. The confirmed interpretation is a comparison among the content pieces represented in the chart.

How does this relate to engagement rate?

IQFluence calculates engagement rate as Average likes divided by Followers. The engagement benchmark adds content-level context: a single tall bar shows that one analyzed piece significantly outperformed the rest. It does not change the ER formula.

Average likes uses the last 30 posts. The product and data team still needs to confirm whether the engagement benchmark uses the same 30-post set. Until then, do not interpret the bars as a post-by-post explanation of the displayed Average likes value.

What should you check before shortlisting?

When one bar stands out, open the corresponding piece and compare its topic, format, publication date, and visible response with the rest of the analyzed content. Decide whether that result represents the type of content relevant to your campaign.

A standout piece does not establish that the result will repeat in a sponsored post or future campaign.

A single tall bar usually marks a piece that significantly outperformed the rest. Review that content before treating the account’s performance as consistent.

Does the benchmark change the ranking?

The default ranking orders eligible creators by follower count. The engagement benchmark helps with interpretation and does not change that order.
