There’s a clip going around of a guy at the range drawing from concealment and putting fast rounds on target. Then a cop standing behind him says, “Yeah… but mine were all headshots.” And that comment exposes one of the biggest misunderstandings people have about self-defense shooting. Headshots are not the flex people think they are. Anybody can hit a head if you give them enough time. But self-defense is not about taking your time and stacking perfect holes on a paper target. It’s about stopping a threat as fast as humanly possible. So I put it on a timer. Headshots vs. center mass. At close distance, the headshots were slower and messier. At ten yards, pushing for the head caused rounds to come completely off target. And in real life, a miss is not just a miss. It’s a wall. A car. A house. Or an innocent person who had nothing to do with the fight. That’s why responsible self-defense training focuses on acceptable accuracy, combat accuracy, and putting fast, effective hits into the area most likely to stop the threat. The goal is not to kill. The goal is to stop the threat and go home.

The new ATF director just said the quiet part out loud. For years, gun owners were told every new rule, every crackdown, every vague interpretation, and every shifting standard was about “public safety.” But now Robert Cekada is publicly saying public safety cannot be used as a crutch to infringe on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans. That is a massive shift. The same agency that went after pistol braces, pushed the “engaged in business” rule, and used zero-tolerance policies against gun dealers is now proposing 34 regulatory rollbacks. Pistol brace rule? Gone. Engaged in business rule? Gone. Zero tolerance against gun dealers? Ended. No, the fight is not over. But anti-gun groups are panicking for a reason. Because for once, the ATF may actually be focused on violent criminals instead of law-abiding gun owners.

Taylor Swift’s wedding just exposed the whole gun control double standard. According to reports, her wedding to Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden is being protected like a fortress. Police. Detectives. Armed security. A wall of guns. And honestly? Good. I’m not mad that she has protection. If you can afford security, get security. But here’s the problem: Taylor Swift has supported gun reform and March For Our Lives… The same movement that opposed arming teachers to protect kids. But when it’s her wedding? Suddenly, good guys with guns make perfect sense. That’s the double standard. Armed security for celebrities. Gun restrictions for you. A fortress for them. A case number for everybody else. They know guns keep people safe. They know armed protection works. They know that when someone is important enough, the answer is more security, not less. They just don’t think you rate. Taylor gets a fortress. You get a phone number. So be honest: If armed security is good enough for Taylor Swift’s wedding, why isn’t armed protection good enough for your family? Drop your answer below — and send this to somebody who still thinks gun control applies equally to everyone.

A man was walking in the woods when a cougar started stalking him. He filmed the encounter, warned the animal, tried to create distance, and eventually fired when the mountain lion kept pressing in. Now the internet is arguing over the same question: Was this a good shoot or a bad shoot? Some people say he should have fired a warning shot. Some say he was in the cougar’s home. Some say the animal was just curious. But here’s the problem: You do not get to bet your life on correctly reading the mood of an apex predator. A cougar does not understand your firearm. It does not understand your warning shot. It does not understand your intentions. And when a wild predator is locked onto you, closing distance, and refusing to leave, you have to make a decision before the animal makes it for you. I love animals. I especially respect mountain lions. But I am not dying for one. And I am not letting somebody I love die for one either. This is the same self-defense reality we talk about with human threats: You do not carry for hunting. You do not carry for sport. You carry to protect your life. And your life does not care whether the threat walks on two legs or four. Could he have handled parts of this differently? Maybe. Should he have been louder, bigger, and more aggressive before it got to the gun? Probably. But when the question becomes him or the cougar, the answer is simple: He gets to go home. So now I want to hear from you: Good shoot or bad shoot?

People act like America is a war zone. The data says something very different. One percent of U.S. counties account for 41% of all murders. Two percent account for more than half. Now flip it: 53% of American counties record zero murders in a typical year. Add the counties with exactly one murder, and 69% of counties account for only 3% of murders. So why are we writing national gun laws for a problem that is hyper-concentrated in a small number of places? That’s the part they never want to show you. Because once people see the map, the argument changes. If the violence is happening on specific blocks, by repeat offenders already breaking the law, what does a national gun ban do to stop it? Drop your answer below.
