Cousin Camp is the greatest thing my parents ever invented. Nana and Papa are absolute legends and I will not be taking questions. 🏕️ Every grandkid over 3 gets a whole weekend at Grandma and Grandpa’s. Matching shirts, a handwritten to-do list, pontoon rides, ice cream, tie dye, slumber parties, and zero parents in sight. They come home with full hearts and approximately one million inside jokes with their cousins. At the end of every summer, we ask our girls their favorite memory. Cousin Camp lives at the top of their core memories! We know not everyone has this and we don’t take it for granted for a single second. We are so lucky. All of us. How it started ➡️ How it’s going! This is your sign, get your hands in the dirt! So thankful for a husband who rented a tiller after I brought up the idea of a “small dahlia garden!” I’m the kind of girl who planted 10 tubers last year and felt planting 325 this year was an appropriate way to scale. 🙃 Gardening has taught me more lessons that I ever dreamt and to have the kids be a part of this adventure from a plot of grass off of our driveway to all of this has been such a gift! Blessing our community with flowers at every turn is the best part! I’d say this “little idea” (that turned out to be anything but little) turned into one of the biggest blessings! Now who’s gonna come over and help me dig these buggers up before winter hits? Any takers? 😉

Our wedding photos tell one story, but here’s the one you wouldn’t easily know. 🥲 Exactly fifteen years ago, we got married at the ripe age of 23, we were so resourceful and creative and completely clueless about what we were actually signing up for. What mattered wasn’t the imperfect details of our wedding day, it was that we chose each other that day, and we’ve kept choosing each other every day since. 🥹 That’s why the cake disasters and the paper plates and the bouquet of weeds still make us laugh instead of cringe. They’re not embarrassing, they’re just ours, right down to the fact that our daughters are the ones picking the weeds now (and we don’t even have to pretend to love them!) If I could give one piece of advice, it would be this: plan a wedding more beautiful than a marriage. Because a marriage was never going to be beautiful in a polished, pinned-and-planned way. It’s beautiful because it’s messy and lived-in and real, and because the best love stories aren’t about flawless days, they’re about choosing each other through the imperfect ones. Fifteen years later, that’s exactly what keeps making our next chapter feel like the most exciting one yet. Happy 15th Anniversary to my favorite person, Drew! ❤️
