I feel mad, so mad, like an unsettled rage in my chest. But I will not stoop to the level of being mean. I refuse to meet darkness with more darkness. I think I need to post this video weekly until it sinks in for all of us, myself included. 💛 You can be mad, but you can’t be mean. Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out. There is so much heaviness right now, so much division, so much that makes us want to scream into the void or fight in the comments. But the more divided we become, the more we lose what makes us powerful, which is each other. We can feel deeply and still lead with love. Build bridges, not walls. Call people in, not out. My six year old knows it and we should all be taking notes. 📝

Today thousands of Minnesotans marched through downtown Minneapolis in subzero temps and wind chills of 35 below to say ICE Out of Minnesota. Hundreds of businesses closed their doors. Unions, faith leaders, and neighbors came together. It became one of the largest demonstrations in Minnesota history. What's happening here is unlike anything we've ever seen. This isn't being led from the top down. It's neighbors talking to neighbors, organizing in group chats and on street corners, showing up for each other without waiting for permission. Every block, every neighborhood, people are taking care of each other in real time. This is Minnesota. We protect each other.
