Yesterday on May 4th at 3:14 am, 22 weeks and 5 days, our first baby boy Luca was born sleeping. I’ve dreamed of having a baby and child birth my entire life. As much as this isn’t the way it was supposed to go I’m still absolutely in love with him and cherished the time I had with him. Postpartum after a still birth is different. It doesn’t only hurt physically… but emotionally. You leave the hospital with just an empty heart. Not a full car seat. People say “I’m sorry” instead of “congratulations”. I’m up at night crying instead of my baby crying. I’m recovering alone without visitors. I’m trying to ice myself so my milk doesn’t flow everywhere instead of feeding my baby boy. I don’t have the cute little hands to grip my finger when i feel down about myself. I can sit here all day and say “why me”. But instead, I’m going to heal and honour our first child. All I ever wanted to ever be in life was be a mother. I’ve worked hard to get to this point. I was always an advocate for telling people you’re pregnant when you want to. There’s no “safe point”. In pregnancy… you’re never “safe”. Let’s break that stigma. The only comfort I have, is knowing Luca is well taken care of with Daniel and Jesus.🤍 Im still a mother. He’s still my baby. He’s still my first born. I appreciate your patience with me these past three weeks and I’ve seen all the messages coming in. I don’t know when I’ll be back, but hopefully it’s soon. A Birthday Miracle! 🎂👶 After years of heartache, tears, and countless prayers, we're overjoyed to share the most incredible news - we're expecting our precious little one naturally! To put it lightly, im definitely NOT naive to all of the possible complications that can happen in these early weeks (and even beyond that). But I’m trying my hardest to enjoy this pregnancy instead of being fearful. Whatever the outcome is.. i know that it’s in gods hands. I’m strong enough to handle whatever comes my way. And I’m a prime example of “there is no safe zone”. I’ve been breaking the stigma and i will continue to do it. This journey has taught us that celebrating pregnancy at any moment is the right time because love and hope are always worth sharing. There's no 'safe zone,' only faith in God's divine plan. 🙏 Throughout this journey, we carry the memory of our sweet Luca, who watches over us from heaven. ❤️ Luca, you are forever in our hearts. As it says in Psalm 127:3, 'Children are a gift from the Lord.' 📖 Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for this precious gift, and we can't wait to welcome this new chapter into our lives. Our due date is May 31st 2024, and every day is a testament to the miracle of life. We want to emphasize that announcing our pregnancy early, won't change the outcome because we believe that God is in control, guiding us every step of the way. Our faith is unshakeable, and we trust in His perfect timing. Thank you all for being a part of our journey and for your unwavering support. We are truly blessed beyond measure. 💕
