Same foods. Very different food systems. In the U.S., thousands of additives are allowed in our food supply, and many of them are banned or restricted in Europe. A lot of them never went through independent FDA review. Under a loophole called GRAS (“generally recognized as safe”), companies can decide for themselves that an ingredient is safe and put it on the market. A few examples: 🍊 U.S. Fanta: high fructose corn syrup, Red 40, Yellow 6. Europe: carrot and pumpkin extract. 🍞 Potassium bromate, a dough conditioner banned in the EU, UK, and Canada, is still allowed in U.S. bread. 🐔 U.S. chicken can be rinsed in chlorine. The EU doesn’t allow it. 🍟 U.S. fast food fries can list a dozen or more ingredients. Elsewhere, it’s often potatoes, oil, and salt. None of this is an accident. Our food system rewards cheap, shelf-stable, hyperpalatable products, and our farm policy subsidizes the corn and soy behind them. That’s the system I wrote about in Food Fix. Europe isn’t perfect. But it shows what happens when precaution comes first. Until our policies change, read labels and eat as close to whole, real food as you can. Play, joy, and love are biological necessities, and the science is unambiguous. 🧬 Laughter lowers cortisol and epinephrine, crying releases built-up nervous system tension, hugging shifts you out of fight-or-flight and into calm, singing stimulates the vagus nerve (which governs your heart rate, digestion, and immune response) and dancing actually promotes the growth of new brain cells. These aren’t fringe concepts, this is your physiology responding to joy in real time. We’ve built entire industries around optimizing food, sleep, and exercise, and those things matter deeply, but joy, play, and love belong in that same conversation. Think of them as part of your health stack — non-negotiable, not optional, and available to you right now. Joy IS health.

There is an entire world inside you that you will never see with the naked eye. Within your cells, molecules are constantly communicating, building proteins, producing energy, and transporting materials. The complexity is extraordinary. And all of this is happening while you go about your day, completely unaware. This scientific rendering, created by Evan Ingersoll and Gael McGill of Digizyme for Cell Signaling Technology, gives us a glimpse of that world. Built using molecular research data, it brings many cellular structures and processes together in one educational image. When I look at this, I see why we need to understand the body as an interconnected system. A change in one process can affect many others. The same principle extends from our cells to our organs and our overall health. It’s also why the everyday things matter so much. The food you eat supplies materials for this microscopic world. Movement, sleep, and your environment help shape the conditions in which it operates. We rarely think about health at this scale. But this is where so much of it begins. My mother always said, “If you know how to read, then you know how to cook!” She was right. Cooking really is simpler than you think. You don’t need fancy equipment, expensive ingredients, or hours in the kitchen to make something delicious that supports your health. Food is medicine, and you get to decide what goes into the prescription. That starts with choosing real ingredients and learning a few simple ways to put them together.

Diet and exercise are the foundation of health. Without them, nothing else works. But true well-being goes far beyond what’s on your plate or how often you hit the gym. It’s also about who you spend time with. What you consume emotionally. How you process stress, connect with your purpose, and show up for yourself day after day. True health also means: – Choosing relationships that nourish you, not drain you – Creating habits that support mental and emotional resilience – Letting go of toxic attachments, whether to people, patterns, or past identities – Practicing gratitude as a daily discipline – Committing to your growth, even when it’s uncomfortable Love this quote by @yung_pueblo. How we built the Mark Hyman report

This report covers Mark Hyman's Instagram account, @drmarkhyman, using the account records available in IQFluence. The figures in this view apply to this account; use the platform switch to view the other linked accounts separately.

The engagement chart shows 10 posts published between 28 Oct 2026 and 1 Nov 2026. These are the content records available in this report; they are not confirmed as a complete account history. They are not confirmed as the sample behind average likes.

Average likes shows the arithmetic average of likes received by this account's last 30 posts. IQFluence calculates engagement rate as Average likes divided by Followers, multiplied by 100. Both values belong to the same analysis. The percentage does not measure unique engaged followers. Calculation details for average comments, average shares and average Reel plays were not supplied.

The source report is dated 8 Nov 2026; a separate collection timestamp for these metrics was not supplied.

IQFluence estimates audience location using location tags, recent-post language and captions, and information from follower bios. Country percentages are estimates, not verified residence data. These estimates do not establish unique reach, purchase intent or campaign sales.
